Dimplex Ignite Bold Built-in 74″ Linear Electric Fireplace (XLF7417-XD)

Dimplex Ignite Bold Built-in 74″ Linear Electric Fireplace (model XLF7417-XD) is a premium indoor/outdoor linear fireplace designed to create a dramatic, modern feature wall with a deeper, more realistic flame presentation. It supports four installation styles in one unit – front-facing, left-corner, right-corner, or bay-style – by removing the side panels to match your layout, making it easy to design around media walls, room dividers, and entertaining spaces.

A key visual upgrade on Ignite Bold is its deeper viewing depth (listed as 5 1/2″ / 14 cm) and a tall viewing window (about 16.1″ / 41 cm), which creates more space for larger, lifelike driftwood and a more dimensional flame look. The patented mirror effect further boosts the illusion of depth so the firebox feels richer and more immersive.

Customization is a big part of the experience. You can choose from 7 flame themes (including blue, orange, neutral, and blended accent options) and adjust flame speed with 5 settings. The multi-media bed combines small and large acrylic crystals with natural-looking driftwood, and you can select from 5 media color options. It also offers three media modes: Prism, Kaleidoscope, and Midnight mode (lights off).

For comfort, the unit includes Dimplex’s Comfort$aver heater for on-demand supplemental heating (rated up to 1,000 sq. ft. in their materials) and you can run flames with or without heat for year-round ambiance. Because the flame effect does not emit heat, the front glass remains cool to the touch for added safety around kids and pets.

Controls include app support (Flame Connect), and the fireplace includes integrated smart self-diagnostic technology that displays a code on the LED display to help service teams troubleshoot and identify parts if needed. For larger designs, the optional linking kit (XLFXDLINK) lets you connect multiple units together for a longer continuous fireplace run. Warranty is listed as 5-year limited for indoor use and 1-year limited for outdoor use.
